Le Temple Des Arts is a remarkable place, somehow managing to be the most luxurious hotel for miles around, whilst also being incredibly camp and kitsch – it’s actually a great combination and will give you plenty to remember the hotel by. It takes its cues from the local film industry, and the whole place is like wondering around a movie set. Each room is individually styled to the theme of a famous film made in Ouarzazate – so the Cleopatra suite has hieroglyphics all over it and a vast bath (although it may be difficult to procure enough milk to fill it!) and the Gladiator suite looks like an opulent Roman temple. Underneath the OTT styling, the actual furnishings and facilities are of a very high standard, and service is impeccable: you could stay in many worse places in Morocco, and not many better.
